At 93, Jim has a way of summing up life with the kind of wisdom you only earn from living for nearly a century. When asked the secret to 63 years of marriage to his beloved wife Margaret, he laughed and said: “I never argued much with my wife, mainly because she was always right.” His humour, his honesty, the way he speaks show exactly the kind of spirit that has shaped his life, and now what he brings to the home.
How our Resident Ambassador Supports Community Life in the Home
Today, Jim now has the responsibility of being one of our Resident Ambassadors. He checks in on people, chats, and listens. He helps lead resident meetings, making sure everyone has a voice in what’s working well and what could be better. Jim is the sort of person who would always put someone else before himself.
A Place that Truly Feels Like Home
His best friend in the home, is Lifestyle Coordinator, Carol. The two of them are often found laughing together, getting involved with activities. When he’s not socialising, he’s relaxing in his room, which he has decorated just the way he likes it. Now at 93, you wouldn’t expect Jim to be very tech savvy, but he is just that. His room is full of gadgets and gizmos, and he has laid it out just how he likes it.

He’s our Resident Ambassador because he’s so passionate about showing others what this home has to offer. The warmth, the staff, the facilities, and most of all, the people who make it feel like a family.
